Main types of sushi

Uramaki
Uramaki, also known as "upside down" rolls, are sushi where the rice is on the outside of the nori and the rest of the items are placed in the middle.

Futomaki 
Futomaki translates to "thick roll" and is the most classic sushi in Japan. Futomaki is a type of maki sushi with rice wrapped in nori with more than two fillings.

Hosomaki
Hosomaki are the smallest sushi rolls. They are rice wrapped in nori, in most cases with only one ingredient for a core.

Temaki
 Temaki sushi is in the shape of a cone. The funnel, about 10 cm long, is made from a sheet of nori and filled to the middle with sushi rice.

Sashimi 
Sashimi is a dish of thinly sliced raw fish served in portions of about six slices or pieces. The name literally means "pierced body".

Nigiri 
Nigiri is sushi rice, shaped by hand into small cubes, on which raw fish, shrimp, crab, squid, sea urchin or others are placed.
